How are the prints created?

Prints are made on 100% cotton smooth fine art paper which is acid and lignin free. They are printed on a printer utilizing 10 different pigment inks which produce an outstanding color range. These prints that will last for generations. All prints are sprayed with an invisible varnish which adds an extra layer of protection from damaging UV light and small mishaps.


What do you mean by limited edition?

An edition is a limited run of a particular photograph and consists of a set number of prints in a set number of sizes. Once artwork is sold out, it will not be released again in that size.

 

Are the limited edition prints signed? Numbered?

Yes, the prints are signed, dated and numbered on the front and back of the print in pencil. 

A Certificate of Authenticity is included. This ensures both the integrity of the edition and the artist's participation in its creation. In addition to making the photograph, Hannele also does all of the printing for the limited edition prints. 

What do you mean by open edition print?

I offer a few photographs as open edition prints. This means at the size specified, the number of prints available are unlimited. Since I'm not limiting the number of prints I'll make with that particular photograph at that particular size and paper combination, the print is priced at a lower rate. All open-editioned prints are signed and dated in pencil on the back (verso). 

 

Do the prints come framed?

No, prints are shipped rolled and ready for framing with your personal framer. 


How are the posters and greeting cards made?

Posters are created on the same 10-color printer as the limited edition prints but are printed on heavy weight matte paper. The posters are not signed, not limited by an edition and were created as a promotional product for the studio. They are embossed on the bottom with the photographer's logo.

The greeting cards are made by a high quality offset printer and have a UV coating on the outside, the cards are blank inside. They are 5x7 and come with a matching white envelope.   

 

How do I care for my new art?

Your art will be shipped in a tube so we recommend setting books or a flat weight on top of it to flatten. Just be careful not to crease it! While we hope you take your new art directly to your favorite framer, we understand that doesn’t always happen. We recommend storing it flat in a drawer away from direct sun, heat and humidity until you are ready to add it to your wall. Your Certificate of Authenticity may be stored with your art or filed separately, but be sure to keep it in a safe place.

 

Once I make my order, when should I expect to receive my print?

When we receive your order, we will email you with an estimated date for delivery.  Our goal is to ship the print within 5-7 business days of order placement. We will prepare the print for shipping and send you a tracking number. All card orders will be shipped via USPS Priority mail, print orders will be shipped by USPS or UPS.

 

What forms of payment do you accept?

We currently accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover when you pay using PayPal. You do not need an account with Paypal to pay using this method. When redirected to the Paypal website, select “pay with credit card” and fill out the form as you would with any other online purchase.

My tracking info says my order has been delivered but I don’t have it. What should I do?

If your tracking info says the shipment has been delivered and you have not received it, contact the carrier directly. If your shipment is confirmed as lost by the carrier, please contact us hlahti@hannelelahti.com. Please include your order number and a brief explanation of the issue. After we confirm the shipment is lost, we will give you the option to either receive a refund or replacement art.

Other shipping issues can be traced back to incorrect addresses. Please make sure that your shipping address is up-to-date before placing your order. If a package is returned to us marked “insufficient address” you, the purchaser, will be responsible for any extra shipping charges for us to resend the package to the correct address.

 

What is your return policy? 

If you are not 100% satisfied,  please contact us hlahti@hannelelahti.com. You may opt for a full refund or an exchange up to 10 days after you receive your purchase. You will be responsible for return shipping. Your refund will be credited upon receipt of the undamaged print. If you are exchanging a print, the new print will not be shipped until the original print is returned undamaged.
