"My Dog is a wiggling nightmare" and other reasons you think a photo session is impossible

June 15, 2019

I hear it all the time – "My dog can't sit still" or "My dog can't be off leash so as much as I want to, an outdoor session is impossible" and the quotes go on and on. My response? Bring it on!

The thing I love most about dogs is their wiggling, messy spirits and I've never had a dog I couldn't work with given enough time, treats and toys. That's one reason why my Lifestyle Sessions do not have time constraints.

As for the leashes? I recommend all of my clients keep their dogs on-leash when outdoors. In fact some of the places we photograph require it. I just edit out the leash after the fact. See below.

If you have concerns about booking a session based on your dog's behavior, give me a call/send me a note. I can walk you through the steps I take to keep them safe & happy during the session while also capturing their unique spirits.  hannele@adogphotographer.com

Teddy could not be trusted to roam free during his session so we kept the leash on the whole time.

Junebug may have been an older girl but SQUIRRELS were her kryptonite so we kept the leash on for her full session.

Duncan and Lincoln live on a fairly busy DC street making leashes absolutely required while shooting on their front porch.
