On a cool October morning, I met Alex and Sienna in front of the Lincoln Memorial. Sienna was immediately friendly and more than interested in my pocketful of treats. Alex was looking gorgeous and bursting with love for her dear companion.
Alex rescued Sienna 8 years ago and they have grown together through a big move to DC and all of life's big changes. Alex wanted to collect images of them together, doing the things they love while Sienna was still feeling good. Capturing their bond was a breeze because they were up for anything—even a fun game of fetch with a stick Sienna found on the backside of the memorial.
I think of all of my sessions as collaborative experiences. My goal is to create environments where everyone feels comfortable. That way they can relax and reconnect with what truly matters rather than worrying about the camera in their face. Alex and Sienna were naturals and the session was a wonderful reminder of why I do the work I do.
